Year in review - September

South summer

Back on the road again in September. Summer was already gone in Germany, but not in Catalonia. During the second part of September I spent one week in Salou, Tarragona and Barcelona, where it was the perfect summer temperature for me. Personally during summer I prefer mountainous regions where the temperature is moderate and not super hot. We started with a 3-day team building event in Salou. The beach wasn’t crowded but the sea weather was a pleasure.

After the team event my brother joined me and we stayed at a friend next to Tarragona. This means sleeping till noon and taking dinner at 11 PM, classy for Spain.

One evening we were just walking around the city after dinner, where we found the practice session of a human tower club. The castle they build up is called castell. They invited us inside and we watched the whole training. I am not wondering why in 2010 it was declared UNESCO World heritage. If you are traveling in the region is a must to see.

I left intentionally to the end Barcelona. We were only 2 days there, but I fell in love with the city. I was never really interested in Southern Europe, the Germanic and Scandinavian Europe looked always much more interesting for me, but Barcelona… it changed everything. Wonderful city with friendly people and the tastiest food I ever ate. Looking forward to see you again.
