About me
My name is Endre Lázár, a computer engineer based currently in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. My focus is on iOS development of application for the enterprise usage. I wrote my first code when I was 14 and I have been always strong in algorithms. Since than, I worked with various technologies, before I met the Apple platform, I worked mainly on .NET, Java and Android.
P, the website
Why P? No, I’m not a huge James Bond fan. Some time ago I bought this domain name, but it was staying there basically empty. Like an empty room of a huge palace. I decided to fill it in with some content and I was thinking of a website. But what content should it hold? Should it be professional or personal? Being a computer engineer it should be something professional with tech related articles, CV, contact info and so on. But one of the main motivators of this website was that I wanted to do something more artistic than tech stuff. I would like to experience more from the artistic side of me, things with more emotions, subjectivity and so on. But this results as my personal side, not professional. So lets just call it P, like professional-personal. I don’t know yet… but here are some topics which I find currently interesting, and you will find posts related to them.
Writing
As intended this website is centered around my interests or things I would like to try out. First of all is writing. I’ve been that kid in the school who did bad in literature and all languages topics and I think I have never been good at it. But there is a quote which perfectly describes how I think currently about the things I am not good at or I haven’t really done it before:
The greats weren’t great because at birth they could paint
The greats were great cause they paint a lot
You probably already heard this quote which is a part of a Macklemore & Ryan Lewis song, but originates from the book Outliers, written by Malcolm Gladwell. So I just started doing it and will see if I like writing or not. I expect that in the beginning will be harder but later with more experience I will do better.
Photography
I’ve been always interested in media. During high school I worked as technician in the school radio where later on I started to work on live concert events and festivals. I cannot specify what drove me in this direction but during my mid-teenage years media production became an important part of my life. When I moved to Budapest for my university studies, I already knew that I want to continue with this hobby. Luckily the university had a small sound and television studio operated by students. Right after landing at the university I decided that I will take part of this, but somehow I landed in the TV studio. This was a bit different side of media but during the university years I spent all of my free time in the university studio. It was a lot of fun. In the last years I even worked in the media production industry doing live broadcastings for major TV channels. But my life path changed and I jumped back to software development. After a time I realized how much I miss media so I thought why not to start a photo blog.
Sports
I’ve never been a big sportsman. I played some basketball in the high school and tried out large variety of sports but I would say I just haven’t found my sport. I tried swimming, fencing, football, dancing and later during the university I tried rock climbing and the gym. The gym didn’t really worked out for me, but rock climbing did, sadly it is not so accessible as running. So after I finished the university I started running, and however in the beginning I hated it, currently I am totally enjoying it, I already miss it if I can not go for a run for 2-3 days.
