Year in review - February

Dec 21, 2016

It all started in West Sussex

A really good friend of mine was living for a year in Chichester, West Sussex, UK. As I didn’t see him for a long time I decided to visit him in February.

I felt myself really good, the British countryside is really wonderful, I realized that the green grass I know could be greener, and I never thought before that 2-3 C can be so cold as it is in the UK next to the seaside.

On Sunday we decided to visit the Isle of Wight, where I took the following pictures. We arrived with the hovercraft to the island and took the train to Sandown. Had a long walk on the seaside and went back after we were ice cubes.

We ended the day with a Portsmouth sunset. Picture

The real rush happened on Tuesday morning. The plan was to catch a flight at 6.50 AM, reach around 8.30 in Stuttgart so I can be at work latest at 10.00 AM. Sounds like a plan, right? The first train from Chichester should have arrived at 6.10 at London Gatwick, in my case it was 6.20 as it got delayed. In the big rush I went to the wrong terminal, so I arrived to the security at 6.35 where it was a huge line. I couldn’t even see the security gates. After convincing everybody before me, that I am gonna miss my flight if I don’t go forward, I reached the gate exactly when the guy was closing it. He let me in, and closed the plane. I was lucky, but sweating like marathon runner. Long story short, I was at 10 AM at work, and it was an adventure.
