The north train

As the year was coming to the end we wanted to visit another city which was planned already long time ago. It wasn’t hard to guess, it’s Berlin. My girlfriend and I lived quite some years in Budapest, we were always talking about that for us a next interesting city would be Berlin. We moved away from Budapest but not to Berlin, so the idea still remained in our mind. So we planned a 5 day trip to Berlin, and intentionally not during summer, because we wanted to see the city as cloudy it can be, and not when the sun is shining the whole day. It’s still on our “maybe we will move there for some years” list.

We are still not big museum fans, but Berlin was the place where we couldn’t decide which museum we will have to skip, because there were too many options. (We are still keeping the max one museum per day rule. ) Beeing interested in the XX. century history we visited the Jewish Museum.

As we didn’t want to steal precious time from just looking around the city and getting the Berlin feeling instead of the tourist feeling, the other museum we went was the New Museum. However both museums were nice, I think I liked the Neues Museum more then the Jewish. There were several industrial art museums which we didn’t visit, and I have the felling that next time we should.

The rest of the days we spent with walking around the city and meeting up with friends. It was interesting to see how multicultural the city is, and how people change between parts of the city or already after a corner.

I can not say, that I could love the rainy Berlin weather, but this city remains on the list.
